WASHINGTON \u2014 Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said NFL officials won\u2019t be \u201cable to sleep at night\u201d after picking Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny \u2014 who didn\u2019t host US concerts this year in protest of President Trump\u2019s immigration policies \u2014 to headline the\u00a0Super Bowl halftime show<\/a>\u00a0in 2026.<\/p>\n

Noem revealed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will be present at the NFL championship game\u2019s performance, challenging the record producer for refusing to appear before American audiences if it led to deportations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey suck, and we\u2019ll win, and God will bless us, and we\u2019ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day,\u201d Noem\u00a0told conservative commentator Benny Johnson<\/a>\u00a0on Friday. \u201cThey won\u2019t be able to sleep at night because they don\u2019t know what they believe, and they\u2019re so weak, we\u2019ll fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department of Homeland Security is responsible for keeping it safe,\u201d she added of the event set to take place at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., \u201cso I have the responsibility for making sure everybody goes to the Super Bowl, has the opportunity to enjoy it and to leave, and that\u2019s what America is about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to enforce the law,\u201d the DHS chief also said. \u201cSo I think people should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless there are law-abiding Americans who love this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt had said earlier Friday that there was \u201cno tangible plan\u201d for\u00a0ICE to be deployed at the Super Bowl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, of course this administration is always going to arrest and deport illegal immigrants when we find them if they are criminals. We\u2019re going to do the right thing by our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny<\/a>, whose real name is Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio,\u00a0told i-D magazine<\/a>\u00a0in a Sept. 10 interview that he was concerned about Trump administration-led deportations targeting Latinos at his concerts.<\/p>\n
