Former ESPN host Samantha Ponder was one of many people who spoke out about the conservative influencer. It did not work out in her favor as she recently opened up on the \u201cvicious\u201d messages she received on social media after she mourned the loss of Charlie Kirk following his assassination.<\/p>\n
Ponder appeared on Fox News Channel\u2019s \u201cSaturday in America<\/a>\u201d and recalled when he reshared a video of Kirk and his family on social media. She thought nothing of it at the time of posting it, but her messages soon began to blow up.<\/p>\n \u201cThe strange thing is, I didn\u2019t really say much. I reposted a video of his family just because I thought it was so relatable to see, because he\u2019s a dad. You forget when you watch people on TV sometimes that this is just a dad who is a husband and has these little kids,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, I reposted a video of their family on vacation, and I immediately lost thousands of followers \u2013 and who cares? This is not about me.<\/p>\n \u201cBut it was more about seeing what\u2019s going on in our country right now, and I got just vicious messages, which any of us who have worked in TV get all the time. I\u2019m used to that. But it was in response to something that I thought we could all agree on \u2013 man, it\u2019s sad when someone\u2019s murdered. I thought that was just something the general public could agree on.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The former 10-year veteran at ESPN, who was fired from the Worldwide Leader in Sports, couldn\u2019t believe her eyes.<\/p>\n \u201cThose people weren\u2019t seeing it all. So, that tells us we\u2019re seeing two different Americas, and a lot of it is because of the social media algorithm that we are all just chronically online addicted to, which is a real problem.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n She posted the following message after Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n \u201cI mourn for Charlie\u2019s family. I mourn for our country,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>Ponder wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I have renewed hope that many, like me, will find the courage to lovingly speak the truth boldly in the public square, as he often did.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Talk negatively about Charlie Kirk, and you are bound to lose your job.<\/p>\n In the wake of death, several people are finding themselves being put on blast and getting fired from their jobs.
