The\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0has been hit with a fresh lawsuit, this latest one filed by Robert Cary McNair Jr., the brother of\u00a0Houston Texans<\/a>\u00a0owner Cal McNair.<\/p>\n

Robert, the son of the team\u2019s late founder, is suing for over $100 million. He is being represented by Tony Buzbee, the lawyer who claimed to represent 120 alleged Diddy victims and over 20 alleged victims of\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/a>\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Deshaun Watson<\/a>, who was with the Texans at the time.<\/p>\n

Buzbee was also the attorney who represented the woman\u00a0who sued Shannon Sharpe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to a\u00a0press release<\/a>\u00a0from his law firm, he has overseen the filing of a suit in the New York Supreme Court against the NFL seeking compensation for \u201calleged tortious interference with contract.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the statement, the Texans owner and the NFL allegedly worked together to remove Robert from his position on the trust board that owns the team because of his constant questions and criticism about the scandals they were involved in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe allege that Cary McNair had the courage to voice his concerns about important management issues regarding serious, high-profile scandals involving the Houston Texans,\u201d Buzbee noted. \u201cWe believe the evidence will be clear and overwhelming that the NFL intervened in the McNair family business to remove Cary McNair from his position as CEO, in an effort to silence Cary McNair. He won\u2019t be silenced.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI want to know what lies Cal McNair told the NFL about his brother Cary. I intend to find out why the NFL chose to go out on a limb and take action that it knew would harm my client, while at the same time subjecting the NFL to liability,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>Buzbee wrote in a five-page legal document obtained by ProFootballTalk.<\/p>\n

The lawyer has made claims that McNair fell afoul of the league after he spoke out about the Deshaun Watson scandal and questioned the way the team handled the whole thing, asking,\u00a0\u201cwhy the Texans paid to settle thirty Deshaun Watson cases within months of them being filed, without any investigation or putting up a fight at all?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He also cited the NFL\u2019s handling of the rape claims against Texans minority owner Javier Loya.<\/p>\n

Cary McNair is seeking $60 million in direct financial losses but expects to receive much more than that in punitive damages because the NFL was\u00a0\u201cwillful and malicious.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The NFL was previously\u00a0sued for $100 million due to Shedeur Sanders\u2019 slide<\/a>\u00a0in the draft earlier this year, though that suit isn\u2019t expected to hold water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
