Erika Kirk is said to have asked for help after the liberal website Jezebel paid witches to curse her husband just two days before he was assassinated.<\/p>\n

The grieving widow, 36, was ‘genuinely rattled’ over the story, which claimed the author had paid witches on Etsy<\/a> to curse Charlie, 31, according to Megyn\u00a0Kelly.<\/p>\n

The Kirks were so concerned by the article that they summoned a Catholic priest to undo the curse the night before the conservative commentator was shot dead at Utah<\/a> Valley University, Kelly revealed on her YouTube<\/a> show on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The media personality said ‘Erika and\u00a0Charlie Kirk<\/a> heard about these curses, and that news genuinely rattled Erika in particular… She was scared.<\/p>\n

‘So much so that she and Charlie contacted a friend, who I believe she said was a Catholic priest, and asked him to come over and pray with them over Charlie the night before he was murdered.’<\/p>\n

Kelly added: ‘Why torture a family like this? A Christian, believing family. Why do this vile thing to a young couple?’<\/p>\n

The Jezebel article, published on September 8, was titled ‘We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.’<\/p>\n

After Kirk was murdered two days later, the news website issued a statement clarifying the timing of the post and announcing it was removed.<\/p>\n

‘This story was published on September 8,’ the website said in the statement following the death of Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump who played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters.<\/p>\n

The outlet continued: ‘Jezebel condemned the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms.<\/p>\n

‘We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.’<\/p>\n

But Kelly was not swayed, and said: ‘There actually are demons in this world, calling on the spirit world, in particular the devil’s spirit world, can actually have real-world consequences. It’s not something to mess with… It’s not a game, it’s literally evil.’<\/p>\n

The original article, written in a first-person narrative by an anonymous author, mentioned being able to purchase a ‘curse as easily as I can buy a phone charger.’<\/p>\n

It explained in detail the different services provided on Etsy in terms of witchcraft.<\/p>\n

The author subsequently said Charlie was one of the ‘downsides’ of the internet, citing his politics.<\/p>\n

‘Maybe it’s his obsession with telling women what to do or his aggressively large head, but the far-right podcaster’s presence is more irritating than most,’ the article said.<\/p>\n

The author posed the question: ‘Are you interested in punishing Kirk for the years of regressive rhetoric he’s shouted at America’s youth and anyone within earshot?<\/p>\n

They conceded a moral ‘gray area’ in cursing someone they never met, adding: ‘I want to make it clear, I’m not calling on dark forces to cause him harm.’<\/p>\n

The author cited a number of small inconveniences they hope Charlie would experience such as ‘an inexplicable zit;’ malfunctioning broadcasting equipment and ill-fitting apparel.<\/p>\n

The author said they hoped ‘to ruin his day with the collective feminist power of the Etsy coven would be my life’s greatest joy’.<\/p>\n
