Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attacked Republicans on Wednesday, immediately after calling on everyone to \u201cstop demonizing\u201d one another for their political differences.<\/p>\n
Clinton told the panelists on MSNBC\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe\u201d that while Americans need to \u201cstop demonizing each other,\u201d most of the demonization is coming from the political right. She then accused Republicans of wanting to erase slavery from U.S. history and of only wanting to hear their own point of view.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to got to stop demonizing each other,\u201d Clinton said. \u201cNow, I think most of that right now in our country\u2019s history is coming from the right, from people who want to dominate, they want their point of view. You know, writing out slavery from history? That doesn\u2019t make it go away. You know, we\u2019ve got to stop with the finger-pointing and the scapegoating. We can have legitimate disagreements, right? I mean, how do you provide affordable healthcare for everybody? Let\u2019s figure that out. How do you deal with what\u2019s gonna be job loss from AI? Let\u2019s get working on that. That\u2019s what we should be doing, but we should do it in the truth-based reality that we have to live in. Facts and evidence have to matter again.\u201d<\/p>\n
While political attacks have come from both sides, Democrats spent an entire election cycle ahead of November 2024 calling President Donald Trump a \u201cthreat to democracy\u201d and a \u201cfascist,\u201d along with comparing him to Adolf Hitler. Clinton has repeatedly warned that Trump is a \u201cthreat\u201d to American democracy and even\u00a0stated<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cThe Rachel Maddow Show\u201d that he desired to be a \u201cdictator\u201d just one day following the second assassination attempt against him.<\/p>\n Following the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, 58 Democrats in the House\u00a0voted<\/a>\u00a0against a resolution to honor Kirk\u2019s life. Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Kirk \u201cignorant\u2019 and \u201cuneducated\u201d on the House floor on Friday, while Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar made several baseless\u00a0claims<\/a>\u00a0about Kirk on Sept. 11 and criticized anyone who is honoring his good deeds.<\/p>\n
