As Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> gears up for his highly anticipated return<\/a> to the screen, outrage is bubbling away among Republicans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was confirmed yesterday that, six days after being taken off air \u2018indefinitely\u2019, the talk show legend would be reinstated<\/a>, his suspension having sparked outrage across Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Kimmel, 57, was originally removed from air<\/a> following comments he made about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>. The 31-year-old controversial media personality was killed in a \u2018political assassination\u2019 during a Q&A at\u00a0Utah Valley University on September 10.<\/p>\n

In his own monologue on September 15, Kimmel, who began hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003, said that\u00a0the \u2018MAGA gang\u2019<\/a> was \u2018desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them\u2019 and trying to \u2018score political points from it\u2019.<\/p>\n

Then, last night, after the likes of Meryl Streep<\/a>, Robert De Niro<\/a>, Tom Hanks<\/a>, and Ben Affleck<\/a> publicly condemned the suspension<\/a> as a violation of \u2018free speech\u2019, ABC announced Kimmel would be back on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Consequently, supporters of Kirk and US President Donald Trump<\/a>, of whom Kirk was a known ally, have slammed the decision.<\/p>\n

Andrew Kolvet, an executive producer of\u00a0The Charlie Kirk Show, wrote on X<\/a>: \u2018Disney and ABC caving and allowing Kimmel back on the air is not surprising, but it\u2019s their mistake to make.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Nexstar and Sinclair do not have to make the same choice\u2019, he added, referring to the two station groups that represent about 25% of national TV audiences in the States and who have decided not to broadcast Kimmel\u2019s return.<\/p>\n

In their statement, Nexstar, which operates 28 ABC-affiliated stations, said: \u2018We made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel\u00a0Live! following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel\u2019s \u201cill-timed and insensitive\u201d comments at a critical time in our national discourse.<\/p>\n

\u2018We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.<\/p>\n

\u2018In the meantime, we note that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.\u2019<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, conservative commentator Auron MacIntyre implored his 230,000+ strong following to contact affiliates and sponsors in a pressure campaign.<\/p>\n

\u2018All hands on deck patriots,\u2019 he wrote. \u2018ABC wants America to know that terrorism will be rewarded. This cannot stand,\u2019 urging people to inundate the inboxes of Mercedes-Benz, Target, Sirius XM, and more.<\/p>\n

\u2018Everyone fights, no one quits\u2019, he declared, later thanking Nexstar for \u2018standing against leftist political violence\u2019 by pulling the broadcast.<\/p>\n

Other pro-Trump critics of Kimmel\u2019s return include an X account named @MAGAVoice, which is verified and boasts 1.3million followers.<\/p>\n

They wrote: \u2018Disney ABC let the WOKE Mob get to them and decided to bring back Jimmy Kimmel. TIME TO BOYCOTT DISNEY.\u2019<\/p>\n

Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh further argued: \u2018Kimmel\u2019s show was put on pause for like 3 days and yet leftists will look us dead in the eyes and tell us that this was a greater attack on free speech than shooting and killing Charlie Kirk.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterise this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u2019 Kimmel said during his show\u2019s monologue on September 15.<\/p>\n

\u2018In between the finger-pointing, the White House flew the flag at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president was taking this.\u2019<\/p>\n

Cameras then cut to footage of Donald Trump being questioned about Kirk\u2019s assassination, to which he said he was holding up \u2018very good\u2019, swiftly changing the topic of conversation to White House renovations.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s at the fourth stage of grief: construction,\u2019 quipped Kimmel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

While Trump himself has not yet voiced his thoughts on Kimmel\u2019s reinstatement, the leader did previously welcome the suspension.<\/p>\n

He also suggested that some TV networks should have\u00a0their licences \u2018taken away\u2019 for airing negative coverage of him.<\/p>\n

In their statement confirming Kimmel\u2019s comeback, ABC shared: \u2018We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.\u2019<\/p>\n

In stark contrast, many A-listers have been celebrating Kimmel\u2019s return, including fellow talk show icon Stephen Colbert, who described the lifting of the suspension as \u2018wonderful news for [his] dear friend Jimmy and his amazing staff\u2019.<\/p>\n
