A majority of home teams around the NFL held moments of silence for Charlie Kirk on Sunday, but the Bengals, Lions, Colts and Ravens did not, according to the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kirk, who was 31 years old and a conservative activist, was assassinated on Wednesday<\/a> while speaking at an on-campus event at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n

During the day slate of games Sunday, the Jets, Cardinals, Dolphins, Saints, Steelers, Titans, Chiefs and Cowboys all held moments of silence for Kirk before their respective opening kickoffs, the Daily Mail reported.<\/p>\n

The NFL held a moment of silence before the Packers\u2019 game against the Commanders on Thursday at Lambeau Field, and in a statement the following day, the league revealed that the individual teams would make decisions<\/a> on whether to hold moments of rememberence for Kirk moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night\u2019s moment was the league\u2019s decision,\u201d the league said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s up to the clubs for this Sunday\u2019s games. There have been a variety of moments of silence and tributes in-stadium and on-air in all games or a game immediately following events that rise to a national level. Clubs also often hold moments following a tragic event that affects their community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been moments following school shootings or an attack on a house of worship such as the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018. There also have been moments following major international incidents such as Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023 and weather-related incidents such as major hurricanes and fires.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Yankees also held a moment of silence for Kirk<\/a> before their game Thursday.<\/p>\n

At the Jets game, photos of Kirk, his wife and their children were shown on the videoboard.<\/p>\n

Tyler Robinson, 22, has been identified as Kirk\u2019s alleged assassin, and he\u2019s expected to be charged with aggravated murder<\/a>.<\/p>\n
