Charlie Kirk\u2019s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson was raised\u00a0a devout\u00a0Mormon\u00a0\u2014\u00a0yet fired his fatal shot\u00a0at Kirk\u00a0just moments after the conservative influencer\u00a0had\u00a0glowingly\u00a0praised\u00a0the Church of\u00a0Jesus Christ of\u00a0Latter-day Saints.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love how Mormons send missionaries around the world, I love how polite they are. \u2026 Half my team is Mormon,\u201d\u00a0Kirk, 31,\u00a0said to huge cheers from the crowd at Utah Valley University moments before he was allegedly killed\u00a0by the 22-year-old trade-school student.<\/p>\n

\u201cMormons are great people. Let me just say, I\u2019m an evangelical Christian, but I\u2019m not one of those guys that hates on Mormons,\u201d\u00a0Kirk said.<\/p>\n

Footage from Kirk\u2019s final event at Utah Valley on Wednesday\u00a0\u2014\u00a0posted on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0shows him even bantering with a member of the Mormon faith in the crowd, referencing how he had \u201cthe white shirt and tie put on right there,\u201d before going on to speak of his love for the church.<\/p>\n

Kirk\u2019s words came just minutes before he was shot and killed \u2014 allegedly by Robinson.<\/p>\n

The accused killer \u201cwent to our church when he was younger,\u201d neighbor Kristin Schwiermann, who knew Tyler and his parents, Matt and Amber, told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a head custodian for 18 years in at Riverside Elementary he went to Pine View High School,\u201d she said, adding that she knew Amber Robinson through the church and the school and was stunned by the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just know that [Tyler] carried himself nicely. He was very nice. He was smart. I hear he had a full-ride scholarship [to college]. \u2026 I was shocked that this was even him.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Friday, after Robinson was identified, the top leaders of the LDS Church said they condemn\u00a0\u201chorrific acts of violence worldwide, including the recent assassination in Utah. We affirm our repeated calls to seek peace and unity despite our differences.\u201d<\/p>\n
