Utah\u2019s governor encouraged the public to stay away from social media in the wake of\u00a0Charlie Kirk assassination this week<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 calling apps like X, Facebook and TikTok a \u201ccancer on our society\u201d\u00a0and telling citizens to \u201ctouch grass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gov. Spencer Cox said the bloody, horrifying images of the 31-year-old conservative activist\u2019s\u00a0Wednesday shooting death<\/a>, which are still circulating on social media, are too brutal for people to see and will only lead to psychological damage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not wired as human beings \u2014 biologically, historically \u2014 we have not evolved in a way that we are capable of processing those types of violent imagery,\u201d the governor argued.<\/p>\n
