“Everybody was calling their parents, but the phone lines were down,” she recalled<\/a>. “People were crying. People were praying. I was like, ‘OK, we’re in here, we’re gonna be OK,’ but we had no idea what was going on.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Even though she didn’t share all of his beliefs, Grace admitted Kirk was committed to student engagement<\/strong>. He encouraged platforms for all viewpoints<\/strong> and gave people a voice<\/strong>, no matter where they stood politically.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
