Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0kicker Harrison Butker posted a heartwarming tribute to Charlie Kirk after the popular conservative activist was shot to death in a horrific scene at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

speaking at about 1:10 p.m. EST, the 31-year-old was shot in the neck and quickly rushed to the hospital. At 4:40 p.m. EST, President Donald Trump announced that Kirk had died.<\/p>\n

After Trump shared the devastating news, the Chiefs\u2019 star kicker posted a tribute to the husband and proud father of two children:<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for your strong witness for Christ @charliekirk11. Thank you for pursuing truth and leading your family as a husband and father. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
