It started with a playful hint from\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0commissioner\u00a0Roger Goodell<\/a>, and suddenly, the conversation around Super Bowl LX became a large-scale campaign. Everyone thought Taylor Swift had the halftime show locked up. After all, she is one of the biggest stars and has a built-in NFL storyline with her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n

Goodell actually thought about the idea<\/a>. In fact, he made the hype even stronger.\u00a0\u201cWe would always love to have Taylor play,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0he told Savannah Guthrie on\u00a0NBC\u2019s\u00a0Today<\/em><\/a>. He added,\u00a0\u201cShe is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and even nudged Roc Nation\u2019s Jay-Z, who oversees halftime production.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m waiting on my friend Jay-Z,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Goodell said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s in his hands.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But while Swift was present in the early discussions about this, fans quickly pushed another name into the discussion. This one surprised even longtime NFL watchers.<\/p>\n

Dua Lipa\u2019s name kept popping up, and soon her supporters turned social media into a campaign for her to be in the halftime show.<\/p>\n
