President Trump waved off bizarre social media rumors about his demise Tuesday, telling reporters at the Oval Office that he was\u00a0\u201cvery active\u201d over Labor Day weekend<\/a>\u00a0and dismissing the morbid speculation as \u201cfake news.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bad-faith scuttlebutt about Trump\u2019s health kicked off after the White House released a schedule showing no public events for the president over Labor Day weekend, prompting grim hashtags like \u201c#TrumpIsDead\u201d and \u201c#WhereIsTrump\u201d to trend on X.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s thin holiday weekend schedule was announced four days after his last public appearance at a cabinet meeting last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very active over the weekend. I went out to visit some people at the club that I own pretty nearby on the Potomac River. No \u2014 I\u2019ve been very active, actually.\u201d<\/p>\n

A photo showed the president dressed in golf attire Saturday \u2014 complete with his signature red MAGA hat \u2014\u00a0as he headed to<\/a>\u00a0Trump National Golf Club in Virginia with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, 18.<\/p>\n

The 79-year-old president took the opportunity to take a swipe at his 82-year-old predecessor, former President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou wouldn\u2019t see [Biden] and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong with him,\u201d Trump said, flanked by Vice President JD Vance and Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.), who both chuckled.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we know he wasn\u2019t in the greatest of shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors of Trump\u2019s ill health\u00a0have been stoked in<\/a>\u00a0recent months by photos appearing to show bruises on his hands or swollen legs.<\/p>\n

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that Trump has a \u201cbenign and common condition\u201d called chronic vascular insufficiency, or CVI, the result of leg veins having difficulty sending blood back to the heart.<\/p>\n

She attributed the bruised hands to \u201cfrequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
