Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, took to her Instagram Story to share a cryptic post after the NFL star confirmed his engagement to Taylor Swift. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Who am I kidding – every man and his dog is aware of this particular piece of news that emerged on Tuesday (August 26), with everyone from Selena Gomez <\/a>to Donald Trump sharing their thoughts<\/a> on the proposal.<\/p>\n

The two stars announced their news on Instagram with a series of photos showing the couple surrounded by flowers, with the caption<\/a>: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”<\/p>\n

Kelce<\/a> and Swift<\/a> started dating in 2023, after the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> star declared his hopes to meet her on an episode of his New Heights<\/em> podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

News of Kelce’s crush on Swift came after he broke up with Nicole in 2022, following an on-and-off relationship<\/a> which lasted for five years.<\/p>\n

While Kelce’s former girlfriend<\/a> didn’t directly respond to the engagement announcement, she did share a post on her Instagram<\/a> Story which discussed actively choosing ‘joy’ in life.<\/p>\n

The post featured actor Tracee Ellis Ross, who explained: “I think joy is different from happiness. Happiness is something you can get at 7-Eleven, and joy is something that you earn and work for and takes practice.”<\/p>\n

“I feel lie joy has legs,” she continued. “I feel like joy has feet, I feel like joy has roots, I feel like creates space and allows for room for more than just a good day. I think joy is an attitude. I think joy is a perspective, and I think joy is a lens through which I live and look at my life.”<\/p>\n

Alongside the clip, Nicole wrote: “Read about this very concept years ago in a book called ‘Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn’t Enough<\/em>‘. I aspire! So so good.”<\/p>\n

The post comes after Nicole previously spoke openly about the ‘overwhelming’ experience of going through a public breakup after her split with Kelce.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test<\/em>, Nicole described how being in the spotlight impacted her, saying: “It\u2019s pretty constant and exhausting…<\/p>\n

“I could post about the sky being blue and people will have a response about an ex and their new situation. It\u2019s inadvertently affected me to the point where it makes me question my overall value as a person.”<\/p>\n

Though Nicole admitted at the time she was still trying to figure out how to ‘deal with it’, she stressed she ‘really likes’ Swift and thinks she’s ‘very talented’.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
