Scott Swift didn\u2019t hold back when Travis Kelce asked for his permission for his daughter\u2019s hand in marriage.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma<\/a>,\u201d the NFL star\u2019s dad, Ed Kelce, recalled Scott urging the Chiefs\u2019 tight end to \u201cget it done,\u201d referring to a proposal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kinda funny, I was talking to\u00a0Scott Swift\u00a0and Travis went to ask him for permission,\u201d Ed, 74, said. \u201cAnd this was\u00a0probably a month ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cScott said, \u2018Oh come on, when are you gonna get this done?\u2019 Travis had these plans to do it \u2026 before he took off for Brazil, and was gonna make a big production out of it some place. But, you know, [he] wanted to make it special.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I told the same thing Scott told him, \u2018Asking her is what\u2019s going to make it special. Not where you do it, you know?\u2019 You can do it on the side of the road \u2026 And Scott adds on, \u2018Just get it done. Don\u2019t worry about any special date. Just, you\u2019re ready. You got the ring. Go do it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

In a separate\u00a0interview with News 5 in Cleveland<\/a>, Ed revealed the proposal took place nearly two weeks ago at the All-Pro tight end\u2019s home.<\/p>\n

Travis and Taylor, who began dating in 2023,\u00a0announced their engagement on Instagram on Tuesday<\/a>, sharing a carousel of photos taken in a garden filled with pink and white flowers.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,\u201d the couple\u00a0captioned the joint post<\/a>, which was set to her track\u00a0\u201cSo High School\u201d\u00a0from 2024\u2019s\u00a0\u201cThe Tortured Poets Department.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis proposed to Taylor with a rectangle-cut diamond with antique references and a silver band, which he co-designed with his jeweler Kindred Lubeck\u00a0and Artifex Fine Jewelry.<\/p>\n

Ed explained that Travis didn\u2019t come to him for advice, but he did show him a photo of the engagement ring.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I think it\u2019s great, I think it\u2019s wonderful,\u201d Ed said. \u201cThey\u2019re two young people, madly in love with each other and I\u2019ve never seen them quite so happy.<\/p>\n
