You remember that and, you know, hopefully in four years, when four years comes back around \u2026 I can be there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0<a class=\"google-anno\" href=\"https:\/\/celebritieshollywoods.com\/sonds\/team-usa-finally-admitted-they-regret-snubbing-caitlin-clark-clarks-fans-shocked-olympics-match\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEknfpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdFVos_V9UfKYTpbZwQ6X0o7XJd7ptx-M4cF9H77SVXZgS7GYanoKWizPg_aem_zjktMLjK4lJNACqlduRDUg#\">\u00a0<span class=\"google-anno-t\">USA Basketball<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has made a \u201cterrible decision,\u201d according to CNN Sport analyst Christine Brennan, by omitting a phenomenon like Clark from the roster.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Hard shots\u2019<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-inread\"><\/div>\n<p>From a P.R. perspective, it probably made sense for Clark to make the team. Yet, watching Clark\u2019s teething problems in her first month in the league and going over her early season statistics, her omission perhaps should not have come as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>The physicality of the WNBA has been one her biggest struggles early on and international\u00a0<a class=\"google-anno\" href=\"https:\/\/celebritieshollywoods.com\/sonds\/team-usa-finally-admitted-they-regret-snubbing-caitlin-clark-clarks-fans-shocked-olympics-match\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEknfpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdFVos_V9UfKYTpbZwQ6X0o7XJd7ptx-M4cF9H77SVXZgS7GYanoKWizPg_aem_zjktMLjK4lJNACqlduRDUg#\">\u00a0<span class=\"google-anno-t\">basketball<\/span><\/a>\u00a0certainly isn\u2019t any less intense.<\/p>\n<p>Part of Clark\u2019s highlight reel so far have been images of the slight point guard picking herself up off the court.\u00a0She\u2019s been on the receiving end of several hard fouls, including some that were whistled as flagrant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think at this point I know I\u2019m going to take a couple of hard shots a game and that\u2019s what it is,\u201d Clark said after a recent game against the Chicago Sky.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3591\" src=\"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-8-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-8-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-8-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-8-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/usdailys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/2-8.jpg 1110w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Chennedy Carter\u2019s foul on Caitlin Clark was upgraded to a flagrant.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Spurlock\/Icon Sportswire\/AP<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m trying not to let it bother me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Understandably, Clark is commanding more attention from opponent defenses than perhaps any other player in the league, but she\u00a0has<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>yet to find a way to consistently break down those tactics.<\/p>\n<p>Through 13 games so far, Clark\u2019s 70 turnovers are by some distance the most of any player in the league and her average of 5.4 turnovers a game is well clear of Alyssa Thomas\u2019s 4.3 in second place.<\/p>\n<p>Clark is also shooting just 37.3% from the floor and 33% from three, which is arguably her greatest weapon, and it seems unlikely that the Indiana Fever would command any less attention from opponents on the\u00a0<a class=\"google-anno\" href=\"https:\/\/celebritieshollywoods.com\/sonds\/team-usa-finally-admitted-they-regret-snubbing-caitlin-clark-clarks-fans-shocked-olympics-match\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEknfpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdFVos_V9UfKYTpbZwQ6X0o7XJd7ptx-M4cF9H77SVXZgS7GYanoKWizPg_aem_zjktMLjK4lJNACqlduRDUg#\">\u00a0<span class=\"google-anno-t\">Olympic<\/span><\/a>\u00a0stage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle adsbygoogle-noablate\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3166493188367342\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\" data-ad-status=\"unfilled\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_9_host\"><\/div>\n<p><\/ins><\/div>\n<p>On statistics alone, then, it is difficult to justify Clark\u2019s inclusion; though by the same metrics, Diana Taurasi\u2019s inclusion is even more difficult to explain given she is averaging just 16.6 points on just 37.1% shooting, while contributing fewer rebounds, assists and steals per game.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Get rest and get healthy\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Through 13 games this season, the Indiana Fever\u2019s defensive rating of 111.7 is by far the worst in the league, with Clark\u2019s individual defensive struggles at the forefront.<\/p>\n<p>Breanna Stewart, a two-time WNBA champion, Brittney Griner, a nine-time All Star and A\u2019ja Wilson, a two-time MVP, have all represented\u00a0<a class=\"google-anno\" href=\"https:\/\/celebritieshollywoods.com\/sonds\/team-usa-finally-admitted-they-regret-snubbing-caitlin-clark-clarks-fans-shocked-olympics-match\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEknfpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdFVos_V9UfKYTpbZwQ6X0o7XJd7ptx-M4cF9H77SVXZgS7GYanoKWizPg_aem_zjktMLjK4lJNACqlduRDUg#\">\u00a0<span class=\"google-anno-t\">Team USA<\/span><\/a>\u00a0at an\u00a0<a class=\"google-anno\" href=\"https:\/\/celebritieshollywoods.com\/sonds\/team-usa-finally-admitted-they-regret-snubbing-caitlin-clark-clarks-fans-shocked-olympics-match\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEknfpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdFVos_V9UfKYTpbZwQ6X0o7XJd7ptx-M4cF9H77SVXZgS7GYanoKWizPg_aem_zjktMLjK4lJNACqlduRDUg#\">\u00a0<span class=\"google-anno-t\">Olympic Games<\/span><\/a>\u00a0before.
