We shed tears, we shed laughter, but he\u2019s in great spirits,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s gonna be great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">A criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE notes that Hill \u201cdid unlawfully use force and violence and inflict an injury\u201d upon three different police officers, and \u201cshould have known that said person was a peace officer then and there engaged in the performance of duty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The complaint notes that the musician \u201cdid unlawfully attempt by means of threats and violence to deter and prevent\u201d a fourth officer \u201cfrom performing a duty imposed upon such officer by law.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block people-sc-block-spotlight--mid-circ mntl-sc-block-spotlight--mid-circ mntl-block\">\n<div id=\"midcirc__card-list_1-0\" class=\"comp midcirc__card-list mntl-block\">\n<div id=\"midcirc-card__title_1-0\" class=\"comp midcirc-card__title mntl-text-block\">Lil Nas X Pleads Not Guilty to 4 Felony Charges as Rapper&#8217;s Bail Set at $75K<\/div>\n<div id=\"midcirc-card__title_2-0\" class=\"comp midcirc-card__title mntl-text-block\">Lil Nas X Shared His &#8216;Last Few Years Have Been Pretty Difficult&#8217; Months Before Arrest and Possible Overdose<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Hill pleaded not guilty to three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer in court on Aug. 25.\u00a0He waived his arraignment, and his bail was set at $75,000. A judge also ordered the star to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings per week.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Though reports indicated that Hill had been hospitalized for a drug overdose, Stafford told reporters that his son \u201cabsolutely\u201d did \u201cnot\u201d take illegal drugs. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department previously confirmed to PEOPLE that Hill was taken to the hospital for treatment after his arrest.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Attorney Christy O\u2019Connor told the court there was no evidence that any drugs were involved in the Aug. 21 incident, and noted that Hill has no criminal history and does not present a flight risk, according to NBC News.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_26-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cAssuming the allegations here are true, this is an absolute aberration in this person\u2019s life,\u201d she said, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/lil-nas-x-lapd-felony-charges-780ef8560cd075102257a5404f882b8f\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">according to the Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cNothing like this has ever happened to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_28-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">He could face up to five years in prison if convicted, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney\u2019s Office. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_30-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cAttacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety,\u201d Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J.
