The\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>\u00a0have decided to cut quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson as part of their roster-trimming drive ahead of Tuesday\u2019s deadline.<\/p>\n NFL<\/a>\u00a0teams are currently making cuts to bring their squads down to 53, which means players have entered one of the toughest periods of the football calendar.<\/p>\n The defending Super Bowl champions agreed to a trade on Sunday that will see them\u00a0acquire Sam Howell from the\u00a0 Minnesota Vikings<\/a>. They have since reported waiving Thompson Robinson, as well as defensive back Lewis Cine.<\/p>\n \u201cEarlier on Sunday, the Eagles agreed to a trade to acquire quarterback Sam Howell from the Vikings and waived\/injured defensive back Lewis Cine,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>the team noted via their\u00a0official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Eagles have now also waived quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Dorian Thompson-Robinson hadn\u2019t been with the Eagles very long. The 25-year-old joined the team in March via a trade with the\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/a>\u00a0that saw\u00a0Kenny Pickett<\/a>\u00a0go the other way.<\/p>\n Thompson-Robinson has played in 15 games since the Browns selected him out of UCLA in the fifth round of the 2023\u00a0NFL Draft<\/a>, starting in five.<\/p>\n He played two preseason games for Philly this year, going 10-of-16 for 73 yards and zero scores. He had no involvement in Friday\u2019s win over the Jets, with rookie Kyle McCord taking all of the offensive snaps.<\/p>\n The Eagles\u2019 QB room now consists of\u00a0Jalen Hurts<\/a>, Tanner McKee, and McCord.
