The father of star Celtics guard Jaylen Brown has been arrested for attempted murder, multiple outlets reported Thursday.<\/p>\n

Quenton M. Brown, a former boxer who goes by his middle name Marselles, was booked Thursday morning on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a Las Vegas stabbing,\u00a0NBC affiliate 3 News reported<\/a>, citing jail records.<\/p>\n

The alleged incident at All American Park unfolded in a parking space dispute\u00a0over a \u201cdoor ding\u201d,<\/a>\u00a0with early reports indicating \u201cthe suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach,\u201d per 3 News.<\/p>\n

The suspect, who allegedly fled the scene, was taken into custody upon being located by police.<\/p>\n

The victim, said to be a youth football coach, was transported to a hospital to undergo surgery,\u00a0according to TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Doctors told Las Vegas police that the victim was in critical condition after suffering stab wounds to his back, clavicle and hands, while also breaking a rib.<\/p>\n

The girlfriend of the victim claimed the couple was parked when an SUV pulled next to them and the passenger hit their car when he exited the vehicle.<\/p>\n

After a verbal disagreement, Marselles followed the victim \u2014 the girlfriend said.<\/p>\n

Brown \u201cswung his arm in a straight stabbing motion and struck [the boyfriend] in his back,\u201d the girlfriend said, according to police.<\/p>\n

Another witness told cops they saw the accused swing his knife \u201c25 times\u201d at the victim, according to 3 News.<\/p>\n

When police found Brown in the passenger seat of the car, he had abrasions to his knees and was bleeding from the face.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe spontaneously uttered that this was all over a door ding without being asked any questions by Patrol officers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marselles is slated to appear in court on Thursday..<\/p>\n

He posted a 33-18-1 record as a boxer and made his debut in the sport in 1989.<\/p>\n

Brown, an NBA champ with the Celtics and a four-time NBA All-Star, \u201cdoesn\u2019t have a close relationship with his father and was unaware of the arrest or incident,\u201d TMZ reported Thursday.<\/p>\n

A first-round pick out of California in 2016, Brown has played for the Celtics his entire nine-year NBA career.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old won his first NBA title last year after the Celtics took down the Mavericks in five.<\/p>\n

Brown and the Celtics failed to defend their title this year after being knocked out of the Eastern Conference semifinals by the Knicks in six games.<\/p>\n

He averaged 22.2 points per game, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists during the regular season and tallied an average 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the postseason.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
