Former college football player Bailey Lenney is dead at 27 following a fatal car accident in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

A former member of the roster at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Lenney was killed in a crash at a farm in Franklin Township in Gloucester County on Saturday night after losing control of his car.<\/p>\n

His death follows that of a beloved football coach who was\u00a0killed in a horrific car crash<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0less than a month ago.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0NJ.com<\/strong><\/a>, the 27-year-old ran off the road into a field, where his car overturned multiple times and he was ejected from the sunroof.<\/p>\n

He was flown to a hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the car left the roadway and went into a farm field, it overturned several times, police said. Lenney was ejected through the vehicle\u2019s sunroof,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the report reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cLenney was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden by a medical helicopter, where he died, police said.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lenney\u2019s family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with burial costs.<\/p>\n

The former player, lauded for his\u00a0\u201ckind heart\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201ccharming wit,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was due to become an uncle for the first time in a few weeks and was looking forward to meeting his nephew. His sister Jenna was expecting her first child.<\/p>\n

Lenney was also said to have shared a close bond with his younger sister Tori, his best friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we grieve, Lena and Jim, (Baileys parents) are faced with the unexpected financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses. We are asking for support to help us give him the farewell he deserves and to ease the weight on our family during this time of sorrow,\u201d the page notes.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lenney\u2019s passing is among the latest of several fatal incidents involving people associated with school sports, another one being\u00a0the shooting death of a football coach<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0over the weekend.<\/p>\n
