Per <a href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/pictured-newcastle-midwife-turned-content-creator-charged-over-home-birth-death-c-19691356\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">7 News<\/a>, Coxon also went by the name Bibi and was a content creator. However, it appears as though Coxon&#8217;s social media pages have all since been deleted or taken down.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Police said in Thursday&#8217;s news release, &#8220;A woman who worked as a midwife will face court today charged with manslaughter following the death of a baby during a home birth near Newcastle last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">&#8220;On Wednesday 2 October 2024, a privately practicing midwife attended a home in Wallsend to assist a woman with a home birth,&#8221; the release stated.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">&#8220;Police will allege in court that over the following two days, the midwife did not act upon signs of complications and requests by the woman to attend hospital,&#8221; Thursday&#8217;s post noted, confirming that on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, &#8220;the woman attended John Hunter Hospital where the baby was delivered by emergency caesarean.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">&#8220;Police have been told that the mother and baby suffered significant medical complications as a result of the incident,&#8221; police continued.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The release stated that the baby boy died in hospital on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, &#8220;and police attached to Newcastle City Police District commenced inquiries under Strike Force Girona.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Coxon has been charged with manslaughter and reckless grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block people-sc-block-spotlight--mid-circ mntl-sc-block-spotlight--mid-circ mntl-block\">\n<div id=\"midcirc__card-list_1-0\" class=\"comp midcirc__card-list mntl-block\">\n<div id=\"midcirc-card__title_1-0\" class=\"comp midcirc-card__title mntl-text-block\">Kate Middleton Interviews &#8216;Amazing&#8217; Midwife in Emotional Video Call<\/div>\n<div id=\"midcirc-card__title_2-0\" class=\"comp midcirc-card__title mntl-text-block\">Midwife Born Without Womb to Deliver Her Own Baby Being Carried by Her Best Friend: \u2018Going to Be Magic\u2019<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-08-14\/newcastle-midwife-charged-over-death-newborn-baby\/105655116\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">Australian Broadcasting Corporation<\/a> (ABC), the suspect has been granted conditional bail after appearing in court on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_25-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The outlet noted that her bail conditions include that she must not act, practice or educate any person relating to pregnancy or birth.
