When his parents learned he had hydrocephalus, \u201cthey ruthlessly left him.\u201d This condition causes fluid buildup in the brain, leading to many difficulties like learning disabilities and problems with coordination.<\/p>\n
Dima was sent to an orphanage for disabled children in Eastern Ukraine. At 4 years old, \u201che wasn\u2019t able to walk or eat by himself,\u201d and staff worried about his growth. During the 2014 conflict, survival was uncertain, and \u201cthey even invited a priest to pray for him before he \u2018went.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Dima was adopted by Ernest and Ruth Chaves from Vermont, who \u201cquickly finished all the papers and officially became his parents.\u201d They named him Zebadiah and gave him the love and care he needed.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/bdudsu8wzj28bejvv0gkfljwml8u9f-1.png\")

Thanks to his new family, Zebadiah \u201cwas able to walk with a walker by himself\u201d and feed himself within a year.
