Streamer Rapha\u00ebl Graven, who was known as Jean Pormanove or ‘JP’ online, has died during a live broadcast in France. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pormanove was only 46 at the time of his death, and had successfully amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on social media<\/a> platforms, including TikTok<\/a> and Twitch<\/a>, through his work creating content.<\/p>\n

The French streamer shared a variety of videos with his followers, ranging from gaming<\/a> sessions to more controversial videos such as sleep deprivation challenges, some of which appeared to show him being mistreated and humiliated online.<\/p>\n

His Twitch profile indicates he was last active on August 18, but according to <\/a>La Parisien, Pormanove died during the night of August 17-18 in Contes, near Nice in France<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The news was confirmed by another creator called Naruto, who was involved in creating some of Pormanove’s videos.<\/p>\n

Pormanove had amassed thousands of followers online (TikTok\/@jeanpormanove_)<\/cite><\/div>\n

In a post on Instagram<\/a>, he wrote (translated): “I’ve always dreaded the day I’d have to write these words. Sadly, last night, JP (Rapha\u00ebl Graven) left us. (…) I ask you all to respect his memory and not share the video of his last breath in his sleep.”<\/p>\n

Following the death, the prosecutor’s office in Nice confirmed ‘the death of a man in a room rented for live video game sessions’.<\/p>\n

The Times of India has reported<\/a> that prior to his death, Pormanove had taken part in an online challenge dubbed ‘ten days and nights of torture’.<\/p>\n

This alleged ‘torture’ included ‘extreme’ physical violence, ‘deprivation of sleep’, and ‘ingestion of toxic products’.<\/p>\n

According to <\/a>Dexerto, Pormanove reportedly texted his mom a few days prior to his death saying he was ‘fed up’ with the streams.<\/p>\n

News of his death comes after Naruto and another streamer named Safine were taken into police custody in January amid an investigation into suspected violence against vulnerable people, but they were ultimately released.<\/p>\n

Tributes have now been flooding in for the streamer, with one TikTok user writing (translated): “Today we gather to say goodbye to Jean Pormanove and to pay tribute to a life that meant so much to so many of us. Jean was a genuine person: attentive to others, generous without ostentation, capable of a smile that lit up a room. He knew how to listen, reassure, and give his time selflessly.<\/p>\n

“Everyone here has precious memories of moments of laughter, of support, of words that comforted. It is this human legacy, made up of small gestures and loyalty, that will remain stronger than absence. We mourn his passing, but we also celebrate the richness of his life and what he passed on to us.<\/p>\n

“May his memory inspire us to live with the same kindness and generosity. Rest in peace, Jean, you will be deeply missed.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
