A football coach has been shot to death at the age of 37 in the lead-up to the 2025 campaign, with one high school program now left to mourn his passing.<\/p>\n

The coach, Demetrice Beverly, was shot in an apartment complex over the weekend. He was a coach at Parker High School in Alabama, and his death follows that of another popular high school coach,\u00a0who was killed in a car crash<\/a>\u00a0last month.<\/p>\n

It also comes during a summer where multiple high school and college athletes have lost their lives in tragic accidents or as a result of violent crimes.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0WVTM13<\/a>, Beverly was in an apartment at the Lakeshore Ridge complex with a woman when he was shot by another man, De\u2019Corlion Robinson, who is facing charges of murder and possession of a machine gun conversion device.<\/p>\n

Parker head coach Frank Warren lauded the job Beverly did with the program after the devastating news.<\/p>\n

<\/em><\/em>\u201cHe was an attention to detail kind of guy. He knew his ins and outs about football off the field with the kids,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he said.\u00a0\u201cHe did a good job of breaking down film and understanding the game plan of each opponent.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
