They\u2019re kicking the doors. They\u2019re taunting him. And they\u2019re basically, you know, torturing him through, you know, using psychology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block people-sc-block-image mntl-sc-block-image mntl-sc-block-image--no-theme no-theme figure-landscape figure-high-res\">\n<div class=\"figure-media\">\n<div class=\"img-placeholder\" style=\"padding-bottom: 66.6%;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_11-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">McDonough later appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/banfield\/bryan-kohberger-tormented-prison\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">NewsNation\u2019s Banfield<\/a>, and said: &#8220;The good news is the inmates were apparently waiting for him. And when he got there, they are now making his life absolutely miserable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">This has led to Kohberger constantly complaining to the guards, who have reportedly told him there is nothing they can do because he is not in any physical danger, according to McDonough.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">A spokesperson for the Idaho Department of Corrections could not confirm Kohberger&#8217;s accusations, but did confirm that the recently admitted inmate is complaining about his treatment behind bars.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"><strong>Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Incarcerated individuals commonly communicate with each other in prison,&#8221; Public Information Officer Blake Lopez tells PEOPLE. &#8220;Bryan Kohberger is housed alone in a cell, and IDOC security staff maintain a safe and orderly environment for all individuals in our custody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Interactions between inmates are also incredibly limited at the facility, according to Lopez, who says: &#8220;Incarcerated individuals in long-term restrictive housing live in single-person cells, are moved in restraints, and are provided showers every other day along with one hour of outdoor recreation daily.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Judge Steven Hippler sentenced Kohberger on July 23 to four lifetimes in prison without parole for the murders of four University of Idaho students \u2014 plus 10 years for a burglary charge.
