Much to the joy of Swifties<\/a> everywhere \u2013 and the despair of their long-suffering friends and families \u2013 Taylor Swift<\/a> has announced her hotly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old pop star made the announcement in an unusual way, compared to past album reveals, enlisting her boyfriend,\u00a0Travis Kelce,<\/a>\u00a0and his brother, Jason Kelce<\/a>, to announce the title.<\/p>\n

In the tightly controlled PR machine that is Taylor\u2019s life, giving Travis\u2019 podcast that kind of publicity is just about as significant as an engagement ring. Cementing him in the legacy of her music? A major romantic milestone, to be sure.<\/p>\n

The news came via a teaser for Swift\u2019s upcoming appearance on the brothers\u2019 mega-popular New Heights podcast<\/a> \u2013 with the episode sure to be widely watched and dissected by fans who can\u2019t get enough of the power couple.<\/p>\n

In the video, which was shared on Instagram<\/a> at 12.12am ET on Tuesday, Taylor said: \u2018Can I show you something?\u2019<\/p>\n

Jason, 37, replied, \u2018Okay. What do we got? We got a briefcase? Mint green, with T.S. on it.\u2019<\/p>\n

Taylor confirmed: \u2018Yup.\u2019<\/p>\n

Jason asked: \u2018What\u2019s in it?\u2019<\/p>\n

Taylor then replied: \u2018This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.\u2019<\/p>\n

Travis exclaimed in response: \u2018TS12!\u2019<\/p>\n

The cover art for the record remained obscured in the clip, with Taylor\u2019s website now displaying a mysterious, blurred orange and green cover, alongside options to preorder CD, cassette, and vinyl versions of the album.<\/p>\n

While the album\u2019s artwork remains under wraps, clues suggest that a glittery orange will be the defining shade of this era.<\/p>\n

On the New Heights set, behind Taylor, a stack of orange-covered art books nodded to an eclectic roster of inspirations: the urban grit of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the dreamlike colour worlds of Marc Chagall, the sculptural poetry of Ruth Asawa, and the meditative abstractions of Mark Rothko.<\/p>\n
