Donald Trump\u2019s invitational golf tournament has seen two golfers exit earlier than expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nexo Championship is underway at Trump International Golf Links in Scotland this week.<\/p>\n

US president Trump<\/a> is an avid golfer and recently visited Scotland for five-days<\/a>, concluding in him opening a brand new course in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n

The championship will be played on the historic Old Course with DP World Tour pro\u2019s in action looking to boost their chances of qualifying in the Race to Dubai.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, two golfers<\/a> will have no chance of lifting the trophy after they were disqualified before the culmination of the second round.<\/p>\n

England\u2019s Sam Bairstow and Scotland\u2019s Calum Hill were both tipped for success in the tournament, Bairstow entering among the betting favourites with Hill in search of his second win of the campaign so far.<\/p>\n

Disaster struck as Bairstow made a grave error on his scorecard at the end of his opening round. He marked down a five on the par-4 14th hole despite actually shooting a seven. He missed the fairway with his tee and hit a provisional ball. After tapping in his bogey, he seemingly forgot his penalty stroke and carded the five which was not picked up by his playing partners either. In actual fact, he had made a triple bogey.<\/p>\n

Having signed for a lower score than he had carded, his tournament was ended via disqualification as per DP World Tour rules.<\/p>\n

Hill\u2019s tournament also ended in disappointment after a torrid afternoon during his opening round on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old carded a four-over 76 and his score hadn\u2019t changed eight holes into his second round.<\/p>\n

Starting on the back nine, Hill found the fairway with his tee shot but his approach was 30 yards long of the green.<\/p>\n

He chipped onto the putting surface, missed his putt for par and after failing with his next two attempts, he picked up his ball and walked off the course.<\/p>\n

DP World Tour professional David Micheluzzi made history by posting the first professional round on Trump\u2019s newly-unveiled course.<\/p>\n

Micheluzzi carded a four under par round on Wednesday morning, etching his name into the course\u2019s history just days after Trump cut the ribbon on the links.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe New Course at Trump International Golf Links was an absolute treat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt had everything you could think of, and it was a pleasure to play. The landscaping of the holes was incredible and to have the chance to play it was very cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
