The Indianapolis colts<\/a> were taking on the Baltimre Ravens on Thursday night for a preseason game when things went terribly wrong.<\/p>\n

Richardson was injured \u2014 sacked by David Ojabo, who came in untouched on a second-and-10 pass attempt. Richardson landed on his left shoulder and eventually got up before jogging off the field under his own power, favoring his right hand.<\/p>\n

The third-year pro lasted just two series before being ruled out for the game due to a finger injury.<\/p>\n

The Colts later announced Richardson would not return to the game because of the injury.<\/p>\n

After his injury, Richardson was replaced by veteran Daniel Jones<\/a>, who was expected to start Indianapolis\u2019 second preseason game as part of the team\u2019s quarterback battle between the former first-round picks.<\/p>\n

The Colts signed Jones to a one-year, $14 million deal during the 2025 offseason.<\/p>\n

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered an injury to the pinky finger on his throwing hand and was immediately ruled out for the rest of the preseason opener.<\/p>\n
