Baltimore Ravens<\/a> quarterback Lamar Jackson<\/a> had a surprisingly low GPA in his sophomore year of high school before a quick turnaround.<\/p>\n

Lamar Jackson attended Boynton Beach Community High School in Florida before committing to the Louisville Cardinals football team. While Jackson easily dominated the competition in high school, his journey to Louisville certainly wasn\u2019t devoid of hardships.<\/p>\n

The ML Football X\/Twitter account passed along an old quote from Jackson, where the two-time MVP admitted that he only had a 1.5 GPA during his sophomore year. Jackson claimed he had to learn \u201cthe hard way\u201d that school is the priority over everything else.<\/p>\n

Jackson made the comments to Jodie Wagner of The Palm Beach Post<\/em> back in<\/a> 2017:<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t have any expectations at first, because my 10th grade year, I had a 1.5 GPA. School comes first. I found out the hard way. I completed my 10th grade year. I was hurt. But I trained that year. I felt I owed it to my team, and my mother. My assistant principal at Boynton High was with me along the way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And the rest, as they say, is history. Lamar Jackson elevated his high school GPA, received an offer from Louisville and graduated with a degree in communications. The Baltimore Ravens traded up to select him 32nd overall in 2018, and he has since asserted himself as one of the league\u2019s best quarterbacks.<\/p>\n
