Reflecting on Luke’s persistence over the years, Sarah said, “He should probably get a Guinness World Record”<\/p>\n
A woman said “yes” to her boyfriend \u2014 after his 43rd proposal.
\nLuke Wintrip had been keen to marry his then-girlfriend, Sarah, since 2018, per The Sun. The first time the tattoo artist popped the question early into the U.K. couple’s relationship, Sarah promptly rejected him.
\n\u201cI just said, \u2018No, we\u2019ve only been together for six months,’ ” she recalled.
\nThe marketing executive added, “I loved him, but I didn\u2019t want to say \u2018yes\u2019 to something I later retracted.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Luke persisted, planning one extravagant proposal after another over the course of seven years. He rented out a castle in Prague, arranged candlelit dinners and planned a horseback-riding excursion on a Jamaican beach, all in a bid to win over Sarah.
\nDuring his 42nd proposal, Sarah promised Luke, “Next time you ask, I\u2019m going to say ‘yes,’ but just you wait.\u201d
\nAfter a year went by, Luke took Sarah to Greenwich in South East London, where Greenwich Mean Time, the yearly average (or \u2018mean\u2019) of the time each day when the Sun crosses the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory Greenwich is kept.<\/p>\n

He said, “This is the center of the world and you are the center of the world and I want you to marry me,” Sarah recalled, per The Sun.
\nAnd then Sarah, at long last, replied with that one simple word: “Yes.”
\n\u201cHe finally won my heart,” she explained.
\n“He should probably get a Guinness World Record,” she added. “I am grateful he persisted for so long.”
