In arguably the most surprising 2025 offseason roster cut, the Las Vegas Raiders released Christian Wilkins on Thursday \u2014\u00a0one year after signing him to a four-year pact worth $110 million in free agency.<\/p>\n

It was initially reported that the Raiders released Wilkins and voided the final $35.2 million guaranteed on his contract following disagreements over how he was rehabbing his foot injury.<\/p>\n

Now, two new reports have provided some clarity on the Raiders\u2019 stunning roster move.<\/p>\n

According to NFL<\/a> insider Josina Anderson, league sources think \u201can incident involving a teammate may have\u201d influenced the Raiders\u2019 decision<\/a> to release Christian Wilkins. A source told Anderson that Wilkins \u201c(was) playing around\u201d in the situation, which affected his release.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Raiders reporter Mitchell Renz of Chat Sports said there was<\/a> \u201ca very weird incident\u201d involving Wilkins. Interestingly, it was noted that the Raiders are being cautious about leaking the incident\u2019s details.<\/p>\n

Following news of his release, it was reported that the NFLPA filed a grievance on Christian Wilkins\u2019 behalf.<\/p>\n
