<\/div>\nThe 7-year-old boy was attacked by dogs \u201cin the area of County Road 147\u201d near the city of Calera, Ala., on the evening of Tuesday, July 22, according to the\u00a0Chilton County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a>\u00a0(CCSO). Local Fox affiliate\u00a0WBRC<\/a>\u00a0identified the child as Noah Burnett.<\/p>\n<\/div>\nShortly after 6:10 p.m. local time, deputies arrived at the scene to find that Burnett had \u201csuffered serious injuries as a result of an attack by one or more aggressive dogs,\u201d police said in a press release.<\/p>\n
<\/div>\nAccording to Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon, Burnett\u2019s grandmother was also bitten multiple times in an attempt to save the 7-year-old, WBRC reported.<\/p>\n
<\/div>\nThe child was transported for emergency medical treatment, but died following the attack. \u201cIt is with great sadness that we report the child has succumbed to their injuries,” the sheriff’s office said.<\/p>\n
