Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> has been hired as Astronomer\u2019s \u2018temporary spokesperson\u2019 to answer the many questions received following her ex-husband Chris Martin\u2019<\/a>s involvement in the company\u2019s kiss cam scandal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood star, 52, and the software company alike were praised for the \u2018brilliant\u2019 move and having a \u2018savage\u2019 sense of humour in the wake of the world\u2019s unexpected scrutiny over two former employees.<\/p>\n

In case you\u2019ve been living under a rock, Astronomer\u2019s CEO Andy Byron<\/a> was caught in an embrace on a jumbotron at a Coldplay<\/a> concert in Boston<\/a> earlier this month with his HR chief Kristin Cabot\u00a0before they both abruptly tried to hide.<\/p>\n

This led frontman Chris to joke<\/a>: \u2018Either they\u2019re having an affair or they\u2019re just very shy!\u2019<\/p>\n

Both have since quit their roles<\/a> at the company after the clip went viral and sparked countless memes and jokes at their expense.<\/p>\n

But Astronomer has had the last laugh in hiring actress and Goop founder Gwyneth for a parody video in an expert crisis management move.<\/p>\n

The Shakespeare in Love star \u2013 who famously \u2018consciously uncoupled\u2019 from rock star Chris, 48, in 2014 \u2013 revealed in the surprise video on Friday night that she had been \u2018hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones,\u2019 she explained, brightly, before the video cut to on-screen text typing out the question, \u2018OMG! What the actual f\u2014\u2019.<\/p>\n

The actress then leapt in to, um, definitely not <\/em>answer that question, instead enthusing: \u2018Yes, Astronomer is the best place to run Apace Airflow.\u2019<\/p>\n

She added: \u2018We\u2019ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018As for the other questions we\u2019ve received,\u2019 the Oscar-winner continued, before on-screen text again popped up to wite out, \u2018How is your social media team holding\u2014\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Sliding Doors actress again responded on an obviously unrelated note to advertise that yes, there was indeed still space at an upcoming conference Astronomer is holding in September.<\/p>\n

She then signed off the video on Astronomer\u2019s social pages by thanking people for their interest in Astronomer and adding: \u2018We will now be returning to what we do best.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018You got Chris Martin\u2019s ex-wife???!!! Savage,\u2019 commented Molly O\u2019Shea on X, while Dan Go praised the video as \u2018marketing jiu jitsu\u2019 and another fan laughingly called Gwyneth\u2019s hire \u2018diabolical\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Whenever [sic.] was behind this idea should be the first to enter heavens pearly gates,\u2019 commented @empressatlantis as @tednotlasso added: \u2018CMO should be new CEO.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I want to hate on it but I cannot. Masterclass,\u2019 added Josh Pate.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Entertainment from now until the end of time,\u2019 tweeted @nearcyan while Sam Kampner suggested: \u2018Just another proof [sic.] that there\u2019s no such thing as \u201cbad publicity\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n

The kiss cam moment also resulted in a surge of interest in Coldplay\u2019s chart-topping music, with streaming up 25% on the band\u2019s tunes.<\/p>\n

According to data from Luminate sourced by\u00a0Billboard<\/a>, in the five days before the Boston concert on July 16, Coldplay had 28,700,000 streams. This soared up to 35,700,000 in the five days after the scandal.<\/p>\n

The clip was filmed by Grace Springer, 28,\u00a0from New Jersey, who stood by her decision to share it online in the wake of the media frenzy, saying she had \u2018no idea\u2019 who the couple was and just thought she had \u2018caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.<\/p>\n

She told The\u00a0US Sun<\/strong><\/a>: \u2018A part of me feels bad for turning these people\u2019s live\u2019s upside down, but, play stupid games\u2026 win stupid prizes.<\/p>\n

\u2018I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their\u00a0future\u00a0still in front of them.\u2019<\/p>\n
