Astronomer has announced a temporary replacement for CEO \u00a0Andy Byron<\/strong><\/a> and confirmed he was put on leave in the wake of the viral Coldplay cheating scandal.<\/p>\n

The company shared a statement confirming the news to Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, July 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cCofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy<\/strong> is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave,\u201d the statement read. \u201cWe will share more details as appropriate in the coming days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andy, 50, and Kristin Cabot<\/strong><\/a> were caught cuddling up to one another<\/a> by the kiss cam during Coldplay\u2019s concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, July 16. Andy, who according to multiple reports, is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron<\/strong><\/a>, immediately dropped his arms from Cabot\u2019s waist and ducked away from the camera when he noticed that they were on the Jumbotron, while Cabot covered her face with her hands and turned around.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoa, look at these two. Alright, come on. You\u2019re OK. Oh, what? Either they\u2019re having an affair, or they\u2019re very shy,\u201d Coldplay frontman Chris Martin<\/strong> told the audience. \u201cI\u2019m not quite sure what to do. Holy s***. I hope we didn\u2019t do something bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to Astronomer, Andy and Cabot for comment.<\/p>\n

Two days after the footage of the moment went viral, sparking countless memes, reactions from celebrities and even fake statements from the players involved, Astronomer broke its silence with a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAstronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,\u201d the software company\u2019s statement, which was shared via LinkedIn, read. \u201cOur leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company also confirmed that Byron, who was appointed CEO in 2023, has not \u201cput out any statement\u201d<\/a> regarding the scandal despite speculation.<\/p>\n

Cabot was hired to work for Astronomer in November 2024. Andy praised the human resources executive in a press release at the time.<\/p>\n
