While they did not treat or examine him, medical <a class=\"\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"\/news\/article-14828055\/Trump-sparks-concerns-appearance-hands-pictures-heated-G7-Summit.html\" target=\"_self\">experts reviewed video footage<\/a> and shared their insights with the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;More likely than not, he has some bruising on his hand and they are trying to hide it,&#8217;\u00a0Dr Boback Berookhim, a New York-based urologist and men&#8217;s sexual health specialist, told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;It could be from a blood draw, an insect bite or potentially from hitting his hand against something.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">That small raised bump after a blood draw is a minor histamine reaction to the needle&#8217;s micro-trauma, a response that typically fades within hours but can lead to more dramatic bruising in older adults due to naturally thinner, stiffer blood vessels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history,&#8217; press secretary <a id=\"mol-61280a60-625d-11f0-9d65-f5fb7f33b998\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"\/news\/karoline-leavitt\/index.html\" target=\"_self\">Karoline Leavitt<\/a>\u00a0claimed in a statement to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Though, Dr Neal Patel, a primary care physician in Orange County, California, said, &#8216;Shaking too many hands is a little bit a stretch.\u00a0President Trump has had something like this in the past, and from my experience and my patients, I would put that lower on the list of possibilities.&#8217;<\/p>\n<div class=\"moduleFull mol-video\">\n<div class=\"item\">\n<div id=\"v-4670538716895856581\" class=\"vjs-video-container vjs-fixed vjs-span-two-col health\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"artSplitter mol-img-group\">\n<div class=\"mol-img\">\n<div class=\"image-wrap\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"imageCaption\">The makeup appeared to be covering a circular protrusion of skin that doctors told the Daily Mail was most likely the after-effect of a routine blood draw<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The president has appeared with similar bumps and bruises on his hand almost monthly since taking office in January. His hands appeared to have makeup covering one of these bruises last month as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">New York City-based internist Dr Stuart Fischer previously noted that skin fragility is especially relevant for Trump, who at 79 is the second-oldest commander-in-chief in US history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">At that age, skin becomes more vulnerable to the deep purple blotches that often appear after minor bumps or routine medical procedures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Dr Patel added that bruising after a simple blood draw would be entirely expected in someone of Trump&#8217;s age and is far more common among seniors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Some of Dr Patel&#8217;s patients can hardly brush a water bottle against their skin without developing a mark, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Aging skin loses protective fat and collagen, making blood vessels more exposed to even slight pressure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Force compresses these fragile capillaries against bones, causing them to leak blood just beneath the surface.
