A 43-year-old UC Berkeley professor was shot and killed in broad daylight outside his ex-wife’s home in Agia Paraskevi, a suburb of Athens, Greece. The victim, Przemyslaw Jeziorski, a Polish national and father of two, is believed to have been targeted in a personal dispute.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0shocking incident<\/a>\u00a0took place on Friday, July 4, around 4:15 p.m. on Irini Street. According to Greek authorities, an unknown assailant with his face covered approached Przemyslaw and opened fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The professor was\u00a0shot five times<\/a>\u00a0in the neck and chest and died at the scene. No identification was found on his body, but police discovered a mobile phone set to English next to him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Przemyslaw had arrived in Greece a few days prior and was staying at an Airbnb in Kolonaki. Reports suggest that he had an\u00a0ongoing legal dispute<\/a>\u00a0with his ex-wife, a Greek economist, and had traveled to the country to resolve matters concerning their children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although she had full custody, Przemyslaw regularly took the children abroad for summer holidays, something that allegedly caused tension between the two. On the morning of the murder, the former couple had taken their children to a session with a child psychologist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
