A teenage girl was swept to her death in the\u00a0historic Texas flooding\u00a0after saving the rest of her family.<\/p>\n

Malaya Hammond, 17, was traveling to a Christian summer camp with her family at 5 a.m. Saturday when they drove off a bridge\u00a0covered by flooding\u00a0\u2014 sweeping their van into Marble Falls, according to a\u00a0Facebook post\u00a0from a family friend, Mikki Willis.<\/p>\n

The brave teen managed to open the door of the van, saving her parents, Liz and Matthew, and her younger siblings \u2014 Khalil, 16, and Surya, 14 \u2014 who would otherwise have been trapped under water.<\/p>\n

Her family searched \u201cday and night \u2014 by land, air, and water,\u201d Willis said, but the teen\u2019s body was found two days later, on Monday.<\/p>\n
