A Houston school community is paying tribute to a 10-year-old girl who died after Texas floodwaters inundated a beloved summer camp.<\/p>\n

In the immediate aftermath of the tragic flooding, Greta Toranzo \u2014 a student at Sinclair Elementary School \u2014 was among the dozens of girls missing from\u00a0Camp Mystic, an all-girls camp on the Guadalupe River.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, July 8, the\u00a0Sinclair Elementary Parent Teacher Organization\u00a0(PTO) shared that Greta\u2019s family confirmed she \u201clost her life in the Kerr County floods.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know this feels impossible to process,\u201d their statement read, going on to state that there weren\u2019t any words that could ease the family\u2019s pain.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease know our community will continue to lift you all in our thoughts and hearts for the days and months to come and we will remain steadfast in our support,\u201d their statement added. \u201cThank you for sharing Greta with us. May she rest in peace and live forever in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n
The organization went on to encourage their community to continue leaving messages and flowers at a makeshift memorial on campus to celebrate Greta\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n

In a statement released while she was still missing, school district officials said they were \u201ccommitted to doing all we can to\u00a0support Greta\u2019s family\u00a0and the Sinclair community during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

CW affiliate\u00a0KIAH\u00a0reported that students, teachers and neighbors have all visited the memorial outside the school, leaving flower and stuffed animals.<\/p>\n
Tracy Clause, who lost her son in a 2007 car accident, visited the school to leave a tribute for Greta.<\/p>\n
\u201cLosing a child is the worst thing that could probably happen to you, and this way is even worse to me,\u201d she told CBS affiliate\u00a0KHOU.<\/p>\n
Additionally, a therapy dog named Justice was brought into the school on Tuesday to provide comfort to the students during this time of grieving, according to NBC affiliate\u00a0KPRC.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe dog provides an amazing therapeutic service \u2014 the comfort and support the children seek \u2014 helping them cope through moments like this. It\u2019s important for Justice to be here now,\u201d Officer Steven Bennett told the outlet.<\/p>\n
PEOPLE contacted Sinclair Elementary School and the Houston ISD for comment on Thursday, July 10.<\/p>\n
As of Thursday, at least 120 people have been confirmed dead from the flooding,\u00a0CNN\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n
