The coach has said the injury shouldn\u2019t be long-term, but McCaffrey should be sidelined for \u201ca couple weeks\u201d and likely won\u2019t play in preseason, per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/christian-mccaffrey-unlikely-to-play-in-preseason-due-to-calf-strain-per-49ers-hc-kyle-shanahan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CBS Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cChristian has a calf strain,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Shanahan was quoted as saying.\u00a0<em>\u201cDid it a couple of days ago. It\u2019s alright.
