One Canadian YouTuber said he bought a pretty run down and abandoned house on a remote island and people have all been saying the same thing about his purchase. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Earlier this year, YouTuber<\/a> Matty Clarke explained that he had spent the last couple months sorting the place out and has come up with quite a few issues.<\/p>\n

To call the house a fixer-upper would be quite the understatement, based on the view that the YouTuber gave his viewers<\/a>, mind you.<\/p>\n

The bed was moldy, the roof was leaking, the wooden floors were damp, the paint was peeling, and just… well, it wouldn\u2019t be a project most people would get excited about.<\/p>\n

People in his comment section<\/a> even pointed out just how much of a \u2018nightmare\u2019 the property<\/a> in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, was with some curious about if it was even worth buying.<\/p>\n

In the video, Clarke doesn\u2019t say how much the purchased cost him but says he simply bought it over the phone<\/a> and had it all agreed after a couple of handshakes.<\/p>\n

However, many others were impressed with Clarke\u2019s attitude and praised him for finding so much damage to the home and being excited about finding the positives and fixing it up.<\/p>\n

In the video description he wrote: \u201cI bought an abandoned house on a remote island, far from civilization. No roads, no power, just me, the ocean, and the challenge of turning this forgotten place into a livable home.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past half-year, I\u2019ve faced everything from extreme weather to unexpected repairs, all while learning what it takes to survive in isolation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many users even remarked that they consider themselves DIY enthusiasts, but wouldn\u2019t dare try giving the home a go.<\/p>\n

The kitchen was initially quite a mess (Skote Outdoors\/YouTube)<\/cite><\/div>\n

Before Clarke even attempted to start \u2018gutting\u2019 the upstairs viewers see him reinforce the ceiling as he said it was starting to sag.<\/p>\n

He also said he would put in a whole new wall in the kitchen to ultimately help prevent ceiling sag in the future.<\/p>\n

He also said he would strip back all the flooring revealing wooden floor boards, would sand them down and insisted they would look beautiful.<\/p>\n

Clarke also addressed one of the most pressing issues, leaks from the roof ultimately stinking up the cabin as well as damaging the interiors.<\/p>\n

While he couldn\u2019t deal with the bigger issue of fixing the roof, for the time being he put on a tarp and said that should at least stop more water from coming in.<\/p>\n

While he has remarked there is lots of work to do, in a good few months, he has made a whole lot of progress.<\/p>\n

“Even the negative sounds positive to him. Very refreshing right now. This is going to be a blast to watch!!!”<\/p>\n

Another commented: \u201cDude is looking at a cardboard home and saying ‘I love it’. What a positive guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third added: \u201cThis is the most optimistic, positive and calm human I\u2019ve ever seen. The house is a wreck and he\u2019s like \u2018this is going to be fun.\u2019 Wow, I think I\u2019m in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

With another writing: \u201cThe very definition of ‘one man\u2019s trash is another man\u2019s treasure.’ So endearing to watch someone\u2019s passion unfold. To me this project is a nightmare, I don\u2019t hold the necessary skills. For this man, it is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the video footage, Clarke was able to show the progress he had made and it is admittedly definitely on its way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
