Donald Trump brushed off a potential ‘threat’ made by an advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, who claimed the POTUS could come under attack while relaxing at his Mar-a-Lago resort. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohammad-Javad Larijani, adviser to Ali Khamenei, made the warning about Trump<\/a> during a discussion about Iran’s military technology<\/a> that was broadcast on Iranian television on July 9.<\/p>\n

He laughed as he shared his thoughts about how Trump could potentially be attacked, suggesting it might happen without any warning.<\/p>\n

Larijani said: “Trump can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago, because while he’s lying down, a micro-drone might target and strike him right in the navel.”<\/p>\n

The adviser did then go on to suggest Iran<\/a> wouldn’t carry out such a move as he said: “Of course, we fight like men.”<\/p>\n

However, that didn’t stop the comment from coming up when Trump later spoke in an interview to Fox News.<\/p>\n

Fox host Peter Doocy made reference to the remark as he asked Trump when he last went sunbathing, to which the POTUS responded: \u201cIt\u2019s been a long time. I don\u2019t know, maybe I was around seven or so. I\u2019m not too big into it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then went on to try and dismiss the adviser’s comments all together, seemingly indicating he wasn’t at all concerned.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI guess it\u2019s a threat. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s not a threat, actually, but perhaps it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larijani’s remarks come just days after Trump said he would ‘absolutely’ consider bombing Iran<\/a> again, after the US launched strikes on three of Iran’s key nuclear facilities in June.<\/p>\n

Following the attack, one reporter asked Trump: “If the intelligence reports conclude that Iran can enrich uranium to a level that concerns you, would you consider bombing the country again?”<\/p>\n

Trump then replied: “Sure, without question, absolutely – it has to be unbelievable.”<\/p>\n

“Can I tell you – they\u2019re exhausted,” the president continued, adding: “And Israel\u2019s exhausted too. And I dealt with both of them, and they both wanted it settled – both of them – and we did a great job. But they\u2019re exhausted.<\/p>\n

“The last thing they\u2019re thinking about right now is nuclear. You know what they\u2019re thinking of? They\u2019re thinking about tomorrow, trying to live.”<\/p>\n

Following Larijani’s comment, a spokesperson for the United States Secret Service (USSS) told<\/a> Newsweek it could not comment on specific protective intelligence matters, but added: “We operate in a heightened and very dynamic threat environment and the safety and security of the President and all of our protectees remains our highest priority.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
