The pediatrician who claimed the\u00a0Texas flood victims<\/a>\u00a0were Trump supporters who got \u201cwhat they voted for\u201d has issued a groveling apology after being canceled and fired.<\/p>\n

Dr. Christina B. Propst<\/a>\u00a0said she is taking \u201cfull responsibility\u201d for her now-viral post \u2014 while blaming it in part on her not knowing that \u201cso many precious lives were lost to the terrible tragedy\u201d that killed more than 100 people, including dozens of kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cI speak to you as a mother, a neighbor, a pediatrician, and a human being who is deeply sorry,\u201d the Houston-based children\u2019s doc wrote in a statement\u00a0shared by KPRC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand my comment caused immense pain to those suffering indescribable grief and for that I am truly sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

While insisting she wrote her post before knowing anyone had died, she acknowledged: \u201cThe words written were mine and regardless of how they are being presented, that is a fact that I deeply regret.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to apologize to each and every individual suffering through terrible loss in this difficult time.\u201d
\nBlaming the backlash on her post \u201cbeing shared with the false impression that I made it after the devastating loss of life was known,\u201d she again conceded: \u201cThe comment was mine and mine alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Propst sparked widespread outrage from the since-deleted post, posted under her old Facebook username, Chris Tina.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA,\u201d she had written.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Propst\u2019s employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, announced she was \u201cno longer employed\u201d in a statement on Monday after she was initially suspended.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs,\u201d the medical provider said.<\/p>\n

Propst said in her apology that politics have never impacted her judgment or actions as a medical provider, adding that she is \u201ctirelessly committed to children\u2019s medical care and would never be so callous as to make such a remark about lives cut so terribly short.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>She said her harsh words came from \u201ca place of frustration\u201d amid her belief that better support is needed to prepare and respond to disasters like last weekend\u2019s floods.<\/p>\n
