We didn\u2019t know if we were going to be evacuated or not. We were just waiting.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The counselors were instructed to \u201cput on a happy face\u201d in order to not frighten the campers. But the campers eventually caught on to the tragedy, and some began to panic.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_18-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cAll of the girls started to go crazy, some were crying because they didn\u2019t want to leave,&#8221; Silvana recalled. \u201cOthers wanted their parents. I really don\u2019t know how to explain it. href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/flash-flood-texas-missing-girls-hill-country-0ea97b27df4cb30339a0a938539c7125\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">the Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_25-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">Camp Mystic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.campmystic.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0on Monday, July 7, that 27 campers and counselors died due to the \u201ccatastrophic flooding on the Guadalupe River.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_26-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_27-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cOur hearts are broken alongside our families
