He was specifically hired to help onboard quarterback\u00a0<a class=\"mai-link-injected\" href=\"https:\/\/www.totalprosports.com\/tag\/derek-carr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Derek Carr<\/a>, who played for him in Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>The Saints considered keeping him on as a coach, but it doesn\u2019t appear that they were sold on the idea, and he remains without a post in the league.<\/p>\n<p>Gruden surprisingly showed up at Chiefs training camp this Sunday, donning team gear as he spent time with Reid while the players practiced. He and I go way back 30 years, so we\u2019ve known each other for a long time. So it\u2019s good to get him up here,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>the Chiefs HC said, per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chiefswire.usatoday.com\/2024\/08\/06\/andy-reid-explains-inviting-jon-gruden-chiefs-training-camp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chiefswire<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe\u2019s always had good input on things. He\u2019s very smart. He\u2019s a great football coach.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs aren\u2019t wanting for anything at the moment, although they could do without Rashee Rice\u2019s legal problems.
