Jurors reached a verdict on all five counts in\u00a0Sean “Diddy” Combs<\/a>‘ closely watched federal trial.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, July 2, he was\u00a0acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering but\u00a0convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n Following the high-profile trial in New York City, 55-year-old Combs now faces a maximum of 20 years in prison if he is sentenced to consecutive maximum prison terms, per CNN.<\/p>\n The rapper and mogul could have spent the rest of his life in prison if he had been convicted on the charges of sex trafficking or racketeering.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, July 1, jurors said they had reached a verdict on four of the five counts, but remained deadlocked on the racketeering charge. Then, early on Wednesday, jurors told the judge they had reached a complete verdict.<\/p>\n According to CNN, the jury handed a note to the judge reading, “We have reached a verdict on all counts.”<\/p>\n During the trial, which lasted more than a month, prosecutors called nearly three dozen witnesses across 29 days of testimony.<\/p>\n Defense attorneys did not call any witnesses, instead using cross-examination to undermine the prosecution’s case.<\/p>\n Combs had been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.<\/p>\n Prosecutors’ case was centered around their attempt to portray Combs as the leader of a criminal racket. They further alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder forced or coerced women into performing in extended and repeated sex acts with male sex workers.<\/p>\n Two of Combs’ exes were key prosecution witnesses: singer\u00a0Casandra “Cassie” Ventura<\/a>\u00a0and a woman who testified under the pseudonym “Jane” spent the most time on the stand.<\/p>\n
