Celebrity chef Anne Burrell\u2019s body was found next to dozens of pills inside her Brooklyn home, sources told The Post Thursday, as police continue to investigate her unexplained and sudden death.<\/p>\n

Burrell, 55, was found unresponsive in her shower shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, after her husband, Stuart Claxton, found her and called 911, police said.<\/p>\n

Burrell, the longtime host of \u201cWorst Cooks in America,\u201d was one of the Food Network\u2019s biggest stars.<\/p>\n

The night before her death, Burrell\u00a0performed improv at a Brooklyn venue<\/a>\u00a0and was last seen \u201cin great spirits\u201d around 1 that morning, according to a witness.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0reportedly suffered cardiac arrest<\/a>, but the city medical examiner has not ruled on the cause of Burrell\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Sources told\u00a0The Post it is premature to speculate on whether the pills that were found next to her body played any role.<\/p>\n

Her death remains under investigation by police but sources said they don\u2019t believe\u00a0there\u00a0was foul play.<\/p>\n

Her family paid tribute to the adored chef in a touching statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and friend \u2014 her smile lit up every room she entered,\u201d the grieving family said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnne\u2019s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit and boundless love remain eternal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Born in upstate Madison County, Burrell graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1996 and went on to work as a chef throughout New\u00a0York City.<\/p>\n

She went on to become a Food Network sensation and was a regular on the station, known for her eye-catching trademark spiked and bleached hairdo.<\/p>\n

She rose to fame with appearances on a series of network shows, including \u201cIron Chef America,\u201d Chef Wanted,\u201d \u201cChopped\u201d and her own show, \u201cSecrets of a Restaurant Chef,\u201d which ran for nine seasons and earned her an Emmy nomination.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnne was a remarkable person and culinary talent \u2014 teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and joy that a delicious meal can bring,\u201d the network said in a statement this week.<\/p>\n

Among the high-profile chefs who have offered their condolences are\u00a0Bobby Flay<\/a>\u00a0and Rachael Ray, who shared the TV spotlight with Burrell over the years.<\/p>\n

She was also a bridesmaid at Ray\u2019s wedding.<\/p>\n

Burrell published two cookbooks \u2014 the New York Times best-selling \u201cCook Like a Rock Star\u201d in 2011 and \u201cOwn Your Kitchen Recipes To Inspire & Empower\u201d in 2013.<\/p>\n

Just five days before her body was found, she posted what would be her final Instagram message.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ran into [the Green Lady of Brooklyn] in my neighborhood today,\u201d she wrote on June 12, with a photo of Elizabeth Eaton Rosenthal, an eccentric local artist and Big Apple personality.<\/p>\n
