The Olympics are still ongoing, but Luana Alonso, a Paraguayan swimmer, won\u2019t be there to watch it in person due to her behavior.<\/p>\n

Based on her social media followers, the 20-year-old is easily one of the more popular faces in Paris. She has stolen the hearts of thousands before, during, and eventually after the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n

Luana Alonso\u2019s Paris Olympics ended badly after she was kicked out of the Olympic Village of Paris 2024 for \u201ccreating an inappropriate environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Olympian reportedly sneaked out of the village to visit Disneyland in Paris instead of staying back to support her teammates.<\/p>\n

Paraguayan Olympic Committee boss Larissa Schaerer said in a statement, \u201cHer presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes\u2019 Village,\u201d Schaerer added.<\/p>\n

Alonso didn\u2019t say anything about being kicked out until Monday, when she finally broke her silence.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s happily returning to the United States and her college life at SMU in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n

She took to her\u00a0Instagram story<\/a>\u00a0and posted \u201cPony up\u201d and a picture of the statued ponies outside her school\u2019s campus to let everyone know she had made it home.<\/p>\n

Luana Alonso Retired From Swimming At The Paris Olympics<\/h2>\n

After retiring from the sport, Luana Alonso is unlikely ever to represent her country again. On July 27th, she failed to advance out of her heat and into the women\u2019s 100m butterfly semifinals.<\/p>\n

Alonso reportedly stayed in the Olympic Village despite announcing her retirement from the sport.<\/p>\n

From there, she would state her intention to hang up her leotard for good.<\/p>\n

\u201cit\u2019s official! I\u2019m retiring from swimming, thank you all so much for your support!\u201d Alonso wrote on Instagram after the event. \u201cSorry Paraguay. I just have to say thank you!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cSwimming: thank you for allowing me to dream, you taught me to fight, to try, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline and many more things,\u201d she wrote, including a bunch of photos of her competing at the Paris Olympics.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
