There’s been an update issued by officials about the human remains discovered near Taylor Swift’s home on Rhode Island.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fears of a serial killer being on the loose remain a concern amongst residents ever since a dozen dead bodies have been found in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, over the past few months.<\/p>\n

Shocking events unfolded near celebrity superstar\u00a0Swift’s<\/a>\u00a0holiday home last month after officials said that\u00a0suspected human remains<\/a>\u00a0were found in the Watch Hill, Rhode Island, area, the affluent spot where the ‘Shake It Off’ singer resides.<\/p>\n

The Westerly\u00a0Police<\/a>\u00a0Department said in a statement: “Investigators are awaiting official confirmation of the identity of the remains.<\/p>\n

“No foul play is suspected at this time.”<\/p>\n

The remains were taken to the Rhode Island\u00a0Medical<\/a>\u00a0Examiner\u2019s Office for further analysis, and now, a further update has been provided by police.<\/p>\n

South Kingston Police Department has since identified the latest remains as belonging to Eric Wein, 31, of\u00a0Massachusetts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wein was reported missing on April 18 of this year, eight days after his car had been spotted illegally parked in South Kingston, WPRI\u00a0reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Wein\u2019s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Local authorities added that they do not believe any foul play is involved amid fears of a serial killer running loose.<\/p>\n

12 human remains have been found across New England across recent months, with the deceased mostly being women.<\/p>\n

A Facebook group previously dubbed ‘New England Serial Killer’ started the speculation, and had more than 65,000 members before its name had to be changed due to rules and regulations in place on the popular social media site.<\/p>\n

Other groups have since cropped up since, with one warning about ‘sinister shadows lurking in the Southern New England tri-state area’, adding that the community is ‘gripped by fear and uncertainty’.<\/p>\n

Despite those\u00a0conspiracy theories<\/a>, the police have long said they have no\u00a0fears about a serial killer<\/a>\u00a0in New England.<\/p>\n

Officials have constantly ruled out foul play, claiming there is ‘no connection’ among the cases and ‘no known threat to the public’.<\/p>\n

Speaking after Wein’s remains were found last month, Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Fox News Digital: “As far as I’m concerned, as far as right now, this has nothing to do with any serial killer [or] any New England murderer.”<\/p>\n
