Donald Trump appeared a little flustered when asked about actors who reportedly chose to boycott his attendance following a decision he made for the Kennedy Center theatre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s attendance of\u00a0Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/em>\u00a0at the\u00a0John F. Kennedy Center<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Washington<\/a>\u00a0DC, last night (11 June) was likely more controversial than he would have liked.<\/p>\n

The president attracted both his supporters and critics at the event, and was asked by reporters whether he was aware of or cared about potential boycotts.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the show, it was rumored that cast members planned to walk off the stage in protest of his attendance. Four drag performers even showed up at the venue to show their visibility following Trump\u2019s pledge to stop drag shows at that theatre.<\/p>\n

Writing on\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0in February, Trump said: “NO MORE DRAG SHOWS, OR OTHER ANTI-AMERICAN PROPAGANDA.”<\/p>\n

Donald Trump faced a boycott and protests over his pledge to remove drag shows from the Kennedy Center theatre (Fox 5)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

At a recent dinner for the Kennedy Center Board, he added: \u201cThe programming was out of control with rampant political propaganda, [diversity, equity and inclusion] and inappropriate shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, when asked about it ahead of going into the showing on Wednesday, Trump boasted about his alleged accomplishments and how he\u00a0handled the situation in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI couldn\u2019t care less, honestly, I couldn\u2019t. All I do is run the country well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe economic numbers, you saw them today, they are setting records, we took 88 billion dollars in tariffs in two months, far beyond what anyone expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no inflation, people are happy, people are wealthy, the country is getting back to strength again, that is what I care about. And we are going to have a safe country, we are not going to have what would have happened in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

People on social media remarked Trump might be masking his frustration (Fox 5)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cRemember, if I wasn\u2019t there, if I didn\u2019t act quickly on that, Los Angeles would be burning to the ground right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

These comments came before the president was both ‘cheered and booed’ at the Kennedy Center, according to Reuters White House Correspondent Jeff Mason.<\/p>\n

On social media, many people remarked at how Trump\u2019s reply was rather odd with some alleging he was masking his frustration.<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cWhen you have to tell people you \u2018run the country well\u2019 \u2026you\u2019re not running the country well.\u201d<\/p>\n
