The family of the British passenger who miraculously survived the horrific Air India plane crash earlier today (12 June) have now broken their silence.<\/p>\n

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is one of the 53 Britons believed to have been on board the doomed plane, which plummeted into a building shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, western India.<\/p>\n

There were a total of 242 people on board, with police initially releasing an official statement suggesting there were\u00a0‘no survivors’<\/a>\u00a0following the crash.<\/p>\n

However, it has since been confirmed that\u00a0one British man had miraculously survived the crash<\/a> as he spoke of his terror of seeing pieces of the plane all around him.<\/p>\n

Ramesh\u00a0spoke<\/a>\u00a0to the Hindustan Times about the moment the plane went down, claiming to have heard a ‘loud noise’ around 30 seconds after takeoff.<\/p>\n

“It all happened so quickly,” he recalled, revealing he’d sustained ‘impact injuries’ on his chest, eyes and feet.<\/p>\n

“When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran,” he continued. “There were pieces of the plane all around me.<\/p>\n

“Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital.”<\/p>\n

The BBC has since spoken to Ramesh\u2019s relative, Ajay Valgi, in Leicester who revealed that the plane crash survivor previously called his family earlier to say he\u2019s ‘fine’.<\/p>\n

Ramesh, who has a wife and child, reportedly said that he doesn\u2019t know the whereabouts of his brother, Ajay, who was also believed to be on board the plane.<\/p>\n

“The BBC understands that he was born in India, but has lived in the UK for many years,” the outlet\u00a0adds<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ramesh’s brother, Nayankumar, has since added that Ramesh has ‘no idea’ how he escaped the plane.<\/p>\n

Speaking outside his family home in Leicester, Nayankumar told the BBC: “We were just shocked as soon as we heard it”.<\/p>\n

He says that Ramesh told him after the crash: “I have no idea how I exited the plane.”<\/p>\n
